BEAUTY SHEARS
Sharpening beauty shears is the backbone of our business. Our system of sharpening delivers a perfect edge to your shears every time. We specialize in sharpening Japanese style shears by maintaining the exact shape, angle and convexed edge of each blade. We remove the very least amount of metal necessary to properly sharpen your shears and always polish your equipment to a "Like New" condition. This insures that your shears last longer between each sharpening. We guarantee our work 100% and if you are not satisfied, you don't pay a dime. We gladly sharpen right and left handed shears, thinners, texturizers, straight and curved shears.
GROOMING TOOLS
If you're a pet groomer we know how important your cutting tools are to you. We offer a full line of sharpening and service custom tailored to the grooming industry. Shears by Shane feels that all too often, groomers don't receive the same care and service for their tools as their beauty industry counter parts. This is why we go the extra mile in caring for your shears and clipper blades. You will instantly feel the difference in how smooth and quietly your shears will cut after we service them. Your tools are an investment in your business and we can help you get the most out of your money. Our work will stay sharp longer and remove less metal from the shear giving them longer life.
KNIVES
We do the absolute highest level of knife care and sharpening. We provide sharpening for personal cutlery, professional kitchen knives as well as commercial kitchen maintenance programs. If you have hunting, fishing, or pocket knives, we sharpen those too! If you are local you can drop them off at the shop and we get them sharpened for you typically within 3 days. There is always the option to mail your knives in if you are not in our area. You will feel the difference once we have tuned them up for you, or your money back!
EDUCATION
We believe in the importance of education and provide educational classes for anyone interested in learning. We offer very basic shear classes for local high school vocational groups, intermediate classes for beauty colleges, and advanced classes in salons helping experienced stylists maximize the use of all types of shears. We custom tailor the classes to meet your specific needs and desires! These classes can be scheduled for individuals or your entire salon as continued education. LOCAL DROP OFF SHARPENING
If you are local, you can drop off your tools at our shop located inside of our Hair Therapy of Goshen salon. The address is 1718 Bashor Road, Goshen, Indiana, 46526. The shop is open Tuesdays-Thursdays 9-7, Fridays 9-5 and Saturday 8-2. If you need to drop off outside of these hours, please contact us and we would be happy to work with you in figuring it out! If you need to set up an appointment and have Shane sharpen your shears while you wait or run and errand, please contact us and we will try to accommodate.
Please note: clipper blade sharpening is done in larger batches and will have a slightly longer turn around time.
MAIL IN SHARPENING
When mailing in shears, please package your shears securely (we recommend using a BOX not a mailing envelope) and include our sharpening service form. Mail your shears to us at Shears by Shane, 1718 Bashor Road, Goshen, IN 46526. We receive packages almost every day from USPS, FedEx and UPS so use whichever service is most convenient for you. Feel free to include your cash or check payment in your package or we will reach out for payment once your tools are done and ready to mail back. We charge $35 per shear for sharpening and/ or repair or if you have multiple shears to send in, we do offer a discounted rate for quantity. If you send in 3 or more pair the charge will be $30 each. There is also a flat $5 shipping and handling fee per package. Turn around time is typically 7-10 business days at our shop plus the shipping time. Please note: clipper blade sharpening is done in larger batches and will have a slightly longer turn around time. We understand that your tools are key to your success so we try our best to get them done and back as quickly as possible.
